Manawahe hot thermal stream is also known localy as Waitangi Soda Springs. There are many hot springs in the Rotorua area which enjoy a clothing optional status as the local maori people have bathed nude here for centuries and continue to do so as of custom.

This good sized pool drains via a concrete race into a lower deeper pool. It is hotter at the top end of the pool. The water has a very high iron content (all the more reason not to wear clothes as they can stain). Discression and modesty is to be practiced.
