The Ellerstrand is situated on the Veluwemeer, to the South-east of Biddinghuizen. Nudist recreation is permitted on a small section of the Ellerstrand and is situated to the North-east of Restaurant de Klink.

The beach is a three bowl-shaped swimming areas, with a gently sloping bottom which the bathing water is not deep quickly. The swimming area is demarcated with a float line of the channel, which runs close to the beach. The channel is identified by the buoys. The beach is made up for the most part out of sand with a small proportion for sunbathing.
