Vlieland is the smallest inhabited island of the Dutch Wadden Islands, located in the northern region of the Netherlands and is considered one of the five islands of the Waddenzee stretch. There are many forests, high dunes and beaches.

The beaches are not only wide but stretch for a vast 12 kilometers in length. There is so much space that nudism can be practiced on the whole beach apart from the area between marker 50 and 51 which is a monitored area next to the badweg. Most activity occurs around the marina, where there are beach pavilions, restaurants and swimming supervision present.
