The Delftse Hout is a huge woodland domain, stretching for miles and miles. A recreation area is centered around the Grote Plas on the North western side of Delft.

The lake was created through excavation of sand for new housing areas. Nudist recreation is permitted on a small area on the North Eastern side. The area is marked with two concrete pillars.

The swimming area on the lake has high banks which make it a little unsuitable for those with small children. Its alternating green and sandy shores are extremely beautiful.
