Kaaterskill Falls located in the eastern Catskill Mountains of New York, is a popular attraction for both its beauty and access. The hike is almost half a mile long from the parking lot and takes about 20-30 minutes. The hike is moderately difficult. Once you reach the falls there are very steep stairs that can take you to the top of the falls. Measuring 260 ft, they are the highest falls in New York State.

The falls consist of two tiers; The upper falls drop 175 ft. The swimming hole is clothing optional and enclosed in a spectacular amphitheater setting, which is a decent size where you can submerge your whole body. The lower falls (no swimming hole) drops 85 ft. Into a rocky basin.
