Situated on the shore of Lake Travis, just outside Austin; Hippie Hollow Park is the only legally recognized clothing-optional public park in Texas, USA. The entire park; 44 hectares is clothing optional, except for the parking lot where clothing is required.
The Park features a steep, rocky shoreline and provides some spectacular views of Lake Travis. It is the only legally recognized clothing-optional public park in the State of Texas.
The land is owned by the Lower Colorado River Authority, it is leased to Travis County. Hippie Hollow Park has been used as a nude swimming spot for years because the area was along a particularly remote section of the shoreline of Lake Travis. Sometimes erroneously labelled as a beach, the park actually sits on a somewhat steep slope above Lake Travis with limestone steps that can be quite rugged in some spots.
Depending on the water level of the lake, access to the water may require some rock climbing.
Under 18's are not allowed. Mature folks only. Remember that nudity is acceptable, lewd behavior is not. Gay men couples tend to go to one end of the park and the couples section was at the other end.
A few boats anchor right at the edge of the swimming area. The park generally reaches capacity on holiday weekends. To prevent overcrowding, when capacity is reached the park is closed for the remainder of the day to all incoming traffic, including pedestrians.
