Calas de la Isla de Tabarca is the only inhabited island of the Valencian Community and currently has less than 100 inhabitants. less than two kilometers long and never more than half a wide (at its widest point).
Located about 7 kilometers from Santa Pola and about 20 from the city of Alicante, on which it depends administratively. The island of Tabarca is a true sea paradise (recognized in 1986 as the country's first marine reserve) with crystal clear waters and spectacular fauna and flora that will delight diving enthusiasts.
There are eight different coves located here. The coast line is cut, formed by small cliffs of few meters of height, with beaches of boulders and a unique beach of sand with transparent waters.

- Directions There is enough combination to go to the island. In summer catamarans leave from the main ports of the province: Alicante, Santa Pola, Benidorm, Dénia, Guardamar and Torrevieja.Tabarca from Santa Pola . Is the nearest port (it only takes 20min by catamaran) and also the cheapest , about 15 Euros. From here there are also taxi / boat services (they are faster, but the trip is more "movidito").From Alicant the journey usually lasts about 45min and costs around 18 Euros . The catamarans from the other ports already usually exceed 20 Euros.Do not worry if you are going to spend the night on the island, because with the purchase of a round trip ticket, you can do the return any day. Anyway, confirm it with the company with which you make the journey.
