On the very most southern tip of Zakynthos Island is Gerakas beach, the least developed beach of the Island. Located in a beautiful protected area this long beach offers calm, warm and crystal clear water, shallow and ideal for kids.
To the right of the beach near the rocks is a nudist beach. This famous turtle nesting beach means you are restricted to almost the waters edge, but the protection society will tell you where you can and cant walk.
Avoid the beach when turtles are laying their eggs or you might be turned away. Please note; Any nests should not be disturbed, any turtles should not be "assisted" to the sea (it is essential to their development that they find their own way.
