Description : Kaiaua Bay is a golden sand beach, located north of Gisborne, and just north of Tolaga Bay. It is a popular surfing beach.

Unless you arrive right in the peak of the Christmas Holidays, you are very likely to get the place to yourself, so enjoy a spot of unofficial nude bathing, you are likely to have the place to yourself. Enjoy!

Directions From Gisborne town centre drive east on Gladstone Road, onto Wainui Road, State Highway 35, towards Wainui. Continue past Wainui on Moana Road and onto Whangara Road. Just past Tolaga Bay turn right onto Kaiaua Road, The road will turn to Gravel, drive to the far end of the road and walk across the creek at the farmer's gate. This area of the beach is usually deserted.
