Description :
Much of North Carolina's Outer Banks is deserted enough to bathing in the nude without worrying about getting hassled by the powers that be. There are miles and miles of pristine beaches.
Unpopulated, unspoiled, and always open, the Outer Banks beaches have popped up on a number of National "Best Beaches" lists. One such place is the remote Pea Island on Cape Hatteras, which sees sporadic nude use when the weather permits. Just park along the side of the road (NC-12) well away from other cars, walk over a low dune or in between dunes, and enjoy your own private beach. Keep off the dunes and stay on designated pathways to and from the beach to maintain the dunes' structural integrity.
The 13 miles of ocean beach provide nesting habitat for loggerhead sea turtles, piping plover and several species of shorebirds. There are numerous birds, toads, deer tracks, and you might see the otter bopping about.
