Description :
Denny Blaine is a small clothing optional park, set in 2 acres (8,094 m2) in the Denny-Blaine neighborhood of Seattle, Washington. The land for the park was donated to the City of Seattle by Charles L. Denny and Elbert F. Blaine, who were also responsible for sub-dividing the surrounding neighborhood. This park is very, close to the former Seattle residence of Kurt Cobain, the same home that he passed away in.
For years, Denny Blaine was the unofficial lesbian beach (dubbed Dykiki), it is now a mix of men straight and gay and families. The park has 3 levels: 1) the level align with the parking lot is for folks who still want to keep their clothes on 2) the level down from level 1 is for folks with semi-nudes 3) the lowest level - or next to the private beach - is for folks who are comfortable with complete nakedness. The water temperature is usually warm.
The grassy unlifeguarded beach is surrounded by an old stone wall. There is enough room for a volleyball net above and quiet picnics and sunbathing below, from where you can take in the great view of Lake Washington. The park is free and is open from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m
