It's not against the law to be naked anywhere in New Zealand, but it's illegal to go unclothed with the intention of being obscene or causing offence. In cases of ‘public nakedness,’ the police go to the Summary Offences Act 1981 and consider, S27 Obscene/Indecent exposure; S4 Offensive behaviour; or S4 Disorderly Behaviour.

The majority of nude beaches are in the northern half of the North Island. New Zealand also enjoys some wonderful campsites, resorts, and clubs for naturists to enjoy.
