    Very pleasant in summer

Pros: Official naturist beach in close proximity to London and all of Kent
Cons: No facilities and limited car parking. Free car parking available at Neptune’s cafe half a mile away

Summary: This is an official naturist beach but make sure you stay within the designated boundary to avoid friction with residents of the Hamlet of Shellness. It has a sandy/shingle waterfront area and grassy dunes. It can get quite windy too so a wind break is recommended. Car parking by the beach was available up to 2021 but there is plenty space at Neptunes cafe a 25 minute walk away. This makes accessibility difficult for mobility impaired visitors. There are a few parking slots at the nature reserve though. We have a Facebook group for regular users.
