Plenty of space but hard walking along shore line.
    Recommended July 25, 2021 - by AandK
Pros: Short walk from car park
    Cons: No sand just pebbles
    • I Used this Naturist Facility as... Part of a Couple
    • I First Used this Naturist Facility in... July 2021
Summary: There is a 98 space car park at Strete Gate with only a 50 metre walk to the beach, it is listed as an unofficial beach, but a sign has been placed on the toilet block by South Hams Council clearly stating that naturists use the beach to the left of the toilet block and that anyone else who uses that part of the beach should not take offence as there is plenty of space to the right they can use (about 3 miles) The biggest issue is that the car park fills very quickly, many non naturists use it despite there being two much larger car parks available further along the bay. We managed to secure a space at 9.15am on a weekday, but a couple told us they secured the last space the previous Sunday at 8.45am. There is coarse sand at the back of the beach, but it quickly turns to smooth gravel/pebbles nearer the sea and is difficult to walk on. The beach has a mixture of naturists and non naturists. There is a public toilet block near the car park and a cafe caravan, but both require getting dressed to use them.
