Miners Beach in Port Macquarie Situated between the southern Shelly Beach headland and Tacking Point is 2 km of east-facing, rock-dominated shoreline containing four beaches. There are two small pocket beaches on each headland, with the longer Miners Beach in the centre.
The beach is unpatrolled and is linked by a newly upgraded coastal walkway (with signs erected by the National Parks to warn walkers that nude bathers may be encountered), it is part of the walk from Nobby's Hill to Hacking Point and is flanked by rainforest. You could easily believe you are deep inside a wild national park. You are, in fact, only minutes from the town centre.
Miners beach has always been known as an unofficial but widely used nude beach. Miners beach is a quiet and wild beach, and none of these beaches are suitable for safe swimming as they are isolated and dominated by rocks and or rips.
