Redgate is renowned for being one of the most rugged, dramatic and beautiful spots on the Cape to Cape Coast. On either side of the granite, Redgate headland are two pristine white-sand beaches with a third smaller beach located in among the rocks of the headland, which is well-protected from the big waves and good for paddling, swimming and snorkeling.
Due to the isolation of these beaches nude bathing is undertaken on all of them, you will find more so on the northern section where you can walk for km; But as they are not official naturist beaches common sense and discretion is required.
Redgate Beach/Calgardup Bay is beautiful but it can be quite treacherous when there is any swell around due to strong rips and undercurrents. The views from the lookout and memorial plaque, for the 1876 shipwreck SS Georgette, towards Isaacs Rocks are spectacular.
