Lizard Island is situated off the coast of Cape Flattery and is one of Queensland’s top islands situated smack bang in the middle of the Great Barrier Reef. The three most popular, postcard beaches are immediately south of the resort – Sunset, Pebbly and Hibiscus Beaches.
As with all the beaches, Hibiscus beach offers water which is crystal clear and magnificent coral that support a multitude of marine life which make it wonderful for snorkeling and diving; It measures about 400 meters long and faces northwest with white coral sand.
There is much privacy here and like all beaches in Queensland it is not an official naturist beach, however, nudism is practiced on this isolated stretch of sand. No day-trippers are allowed on the island and the resort has only 40 villas.
