Somers is a residential seaside town, facing Western Port Bay and looking towards Phillip Island, on the Mornington Peninsula.It is a golden sandy beach which runs east to Sandy Point, and north of the point Western Port Bay and has tidal mudflats and mangroves.

The beach is often narrow and steep with deep water at high tide, and sand and reef flats exposed at low tide. The waters are safe for swimming in.

This is an unofficial beach, so please be careful when stripping off. The Somers Yacht Club is located on the beach and small yachts and sail boats are commonly seen off the beach.
