Located in the Waitakere Ranges in the Auckland Region.Te Henga, or Bethells Beach, is a properly mystical place. No wonder so many films, TV series, music videos and commercials are shot there.
Being on the west coast of Auckland, its sunsets are especially spectacular. The Maori name Te Henga, meaning sand. One side there is an expansive beach to wander down, and on the other is black sand dunes that lead down to a hidden lagoon.
The caves are awesome and if you can find the blue sand it is pretty incredible! Lots of beach space, dunes and surf. When life guards are present, swim between the flags as west coast beaches often have rips. Nudes venture to the south or north over the saddle to O'Neills Beach.
