Opoutere Beach is on the eastern side of the Coromandel Peninsula of New Zealand. This coastal hideaway has no shops, a beautiful crystal clear river and the Wharekawa Reserve that you have to walk through to get to the beach.
Once on the beach it is a 5km long lovely sandy beach with a small headland at one end where the river exits. There is not a building to be seen! A fabulous quiet place for walking and fishing or exploring the beautiful forest, enjoying the rolling surf and tranquil waters of the Wharekawa Harbour. Find a suitable quiet spot to enjoy a nude skinny dip!
