Sylt (pronounced Zoolt) lies five miles off the north west coast of Germany. Sylt is famous for its nude beaches; after all, the island opened the first official nude beach in Germany in 1920.Often referred to as an island, it is in fact a huge sandbar attached to the mainland. It is a little more than a strip, only 550m (1,800 ft.) wide at its narrowest point, that's composed mostly of sand and very little rock.
Sylt is the most exclusive resort in Germany, and its hotel prices reflect it's status. it attracts few international visitors but is a haven for Germans and tourists from German speaking countries.
You will find there’s an easy going atmosphere where you can just relax and be at one with nature. If you do need something to warm you up a little, best head for the beach sauna! Caution the Sylt can get pretty wet and windy!!
