Lake ‘Kralingse Plas’ is located on the northeastern outskirts of Rotterdam. It is surrounded on three sides by what is locally called the Kralingse Bos, but the term 'bos' (means ‘forest’) is a little excessive considering the size.
In any other city you would call it a 'park' and that's what it is; beautiful vistas and lawns,On the west lakeside is a sandy beach for children, and a little further a petting zoo and a ‘climbing forest’.There is a small area for nudist recreation, on the north western side.
The area is signposted. It takes about one and a quarter of an hour to walk around the entire lake. Great for a bike ride, walk or picnic or to eat in one of the cute lakeside cafes.
