The Twistesee lies between Volkmarsen and Bad Arolsen.the Twiste is regulated by a dam, which was built at the only waterfront Wetterburg, to a fairly large flood retention basin for water regulation.

Surrounded by nature, the Twistesee is one of the cleanest German reservoirs. The official naturist swimming area is located on the eastern shore. It is very idyllic, surrounded by forest, the small naturist meadow is well protected and private, as the meadow is at the end of a path that leads exclusively to this meadow.

The trail is all protected by the forest and is separately situated from the textile strip areas. The access to the water for swimming is very easy and the area is clean and well maintained.
