Ruby Valley Hot Springs, also sometimes called Smith Ranch Hot Springs, is about an hour and a half southeast of Elko. You will have to work for this one a bit as it's extremely remote and a bit treacherous to get to, but the payoff is big. Set within a stunning location. This incredibly scenic collection of emerald coloured pools range in temperature from warm to very hot.

The main soaking pool is 50 feet across and deep enough to swim in, and depending on the season, temperatures range from 90 to 103 degrees. The surrounding field can get muddy, but there’s a couple of wood platforms at the edge of the cerulean pool. There are several other smaller pools all clustered within a quarter mile of the main pool, and all vary in temperature and accessibility. Remote, isolated, private, perfect for a naked dip.
