The McCredie Hot Springs is just east of Oakridge, off OR-58 in the depths of the Willamette National Forest, and is a popular spot for those who enjoy soaking nude in several pools. The pool depth is 2 ft and clothing is not required. The water temperature is around 130-degrees coming through a concrete cap block and runs through several pools of lessening water temperature. These hot springs could be really amazing with a little effort!
There used to be a hot spring resort, but in 1958 it burned to the ground, and there are still a few crumbling stone foundations leftover...but these days the pools are volunteer-built wallows dug out of the riverbank on the south side of the river. The pools of varying temps, have sandy mud bottoms and clean-ish water, surrounded by beautiful forest. Clothing is optional, but you are in full view of the day use area on the other side of the river, so be warned!
