Cales Coves is a collection of coves and caves in the south of Menorca protected by spectacular cliffs. In the municipality of Alaior. These artificial caves that from the 9th century BC were used to bury the deceased and were until Roman times a place of pilgrimage.
Later the cove served to anchor and in some caves fishermen settled to live. At the end of a ravine you will see a cove framed between two cliffs full of caves that was once a prehistoric necropolis, and for many years was the sanctuary of nudism in Menorca.
Naturism is still practiced here today. This beautiful and interesting place which receives a low influx of visitors, offers much to see, where you can enjoy the sand and stone beach and the calm clear waters of the sea. From the easternmost end, you can see beautiful sunsets.
