Almyros beach is one of the longest beaches in Corfu stretching for 7 km and an extension to the west of the cosmopolitan beach Acharavi. Almyros is a deserted, rugged coastline, with sand dunes and shallow waters. On windy days almost impossible to get into the sea for the rocks on the waters edge.
At the center of Almyros you will find hotels and bars and it is where all the action takes place. At the ends of the region you can find more secluded parts and serenity in order to enjoy a swim and also the wonderful view with the mountains of Albania located on your right.
This area attracts a gay fraternity, there does seems to be a lot more single men sunbathing (or with a friend) than on other beaches, we have noticed there are sometimes more cars on the beach than people, we think they may have chosen to sunbath in the sand dunes? But we haven’t been to look!
