Saunton Sands

Things to Know

Getting There:

Directions: ANW Members share: There is a car park at the north end of the beach (51.116854, -4.219846) that is very close to the (more populated end of the) beach, and another about half way between the north and south of the beach (51.093901, -4.195992), though separated from the beach by being at the inland side of the dunes....I used the car park half way down the dunes, and made my way through the dunes to the southern end, with hindsight and more studying of maps, I would walk down the South West Coastal path to the American Road (which is a track, named as such from the Burrows were used by the US troops to train for D-Day). This appears to come out a bit further south to the River Taw estuary. Please note I have not done this route, but whilst a bit longer looks less challenging than crossing the dunes to the beach. Address: Saunton Sands, Braunton, Devon, England, United Kingdom
