Meon Shore is a lengthy stretch of shingle beach running along the Solent at Fareham, Hampshire, England. It sits on the other side of Hill Head harbour which straddles the river Meon. Naturists have long been known to use parts of the beach. You need to walk past the chalets, westerly to reach the naturist area.
As the tide goes out it reveals large areas of sand and, being an estuary, the water is often warmer than the nearby channel coast. The beach attracts a good mixture of naturists as well as a lot of dog walkers and the odd paraglider! It can be overlooked from the cliffs behind but this rarely seems to be a problem.
There are toilets but no cafe, although a pop-up coffee stall often appears. The beach is all shingle at high tide but this is small pebble size and comfortable to lie on and as the tide recedes it reveals more and more sand. Water quality is generally good.
