The Conundrum Hot Springs are located 8.5 miles from Conundrum Creek Trailhead off Castle Creek Road in the Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness. The hot spring complex is clothing optional, in fact you will see more nude than textiles. It contains two main pools and four smaller springs with a combined approximate discharge of 130 GPM, and max avg. temperature of ~100 degrees F (each pool varies).Varied terrain along the way — across meadows, through streams, under pines, through scree fields and forests.
The springs draw thousands each summer, most who camp in the immediate vicinity. Conundrum is not recommended during the colder months unless you are certified to navigate high avalanche risk territory. The remote location makes the beauty of the landscape hard to beat.Visit on a weekday when it will be quieter. Although Conundrum Hot Springs is known to be clothing optional, it is not an official nudist getaway and there may be families around so be respectful of people around you.
