One of the least known of the Greek islands is Elafonissos, located in the Lakonikos Kolpos. Simos Beach offers white sand dunes and crystal clear waters perfect for snorkeling. Simos consists of two beaches, Megalos Simos and Mikros Simos, being large and small.
Separated by a narrow stretch of white sand.The centre of the small Island is sand dunes and beautiful flowers (a protected nature reserve) and the small sandy coves around the outside are perfect for naked sunbathing! You will also find many people pitching their tents amongst the sand dunes.

- Directions: To get to Elafonissos you drive to the town of Neapolis, then go back a few kilometers to the village of Vingliafa where there are two small ferries which go back and forth continuously to the island. It is just a 10 minute ferry journey.
