I am introducing this forum topic as part of the words matter theme of early March.
First: I would like to invite you all to share one specific word that sums up naturism for you.
Second: What five words would you use to describe naturism that people who haven't tried naturism may not have considered ? and What five words would you say doesn't describe naturism that those same people may wrongly consider to be true?
Third: What adjective or other word would best describe what naturism has personally given you - for example strength, confidence, comfort...
Don't worry about using the same words as others. If it is the words that work for you that is all that matters.

We think the one word that really sums up naturism is: “Truth.”
People everyday hide themselves in order to conform to a society that shames them for financial gain, by selling products with the fake promise that they will improve you. When you stand naked in front of others, all you can be is honest, because your naked self, is the truth of who you are.
Five words to describe naturism.
Freedom.
Awakening.
Uninhibited.
Joyous.
Liberating.
Five words that do not describe naturism.
Hidden.
Secretive.
Sexual.
Voyeuristic.
Embarrassing.
As a couple the one word that best describes what naturism has personally given us would be: “Belonging.”
I would say my one word would be "freedom"

I think the word for what naturism has given me is "hope" for the future.
One specific word that sums up naturism for me: Freedom. Pure, everyday freedom. No layers hiding who you are, no worrying about how fabric sits or what it costs. Just you, as you are, moving through the world.
Five words I’d use to describe naturism that newcomers probably haven’t considered:
Five words that do NOT describe naturism (but many outsiders wrongly assume):
The one word that best describes what naturism has personally given me: Confidence.
Not the loud, performative kind, but a quiet, steady self-acceptance that carries into clothed life. After years of practicing naturism, I no longer obsess over “flaws” or compare myself constantly. My body is just my body, functional, alive, and good enough (although I keep exercising, eating well and sleeping enough to stay in good health). That shift has made me more present, kinder to myself, and bolder in everyday choices.
