I'm really pragmatic with my approach to shoes while being naked. I don't have the most tender feet, but I don't have calluses either. If I'm at home or in the backyard, I don't wear shoes, but if I'm hiking or in a public place, I do. :)
Exactly this. The first thing that comes off when I enter my apartment is my shoes. But they're also the last thing that goes on when I'm leaving. I appreciate having them when I'm walking on unfamiliar terrain. But at home, they're always off (usually along with everything else, of course. :)
It is lovely to walk around the house, on grass or sand, and some times other environments without shoes, but we also have to recognise our limitations.
Our feet definitely toughen up to different terrain though when we practise walking bare foot. Like with so many things it is all a matter of sensible balance.
