I think this is all very interesting. I remember the news reporting of the introduction of x-rays in airports that basically show people naked when they walk through - lots of it's against human rights and privacy claims. As mentioned in another topic some people now go into pools in clothes that hide their shape. Does anyone remember the female tennis player that caused issue wearing an outfit that basic looked like it was sprayed on - many athletes do the same - why not bring back naked Olympics?
In Spain we were told in early days of the virus to not bring clothes and shoes in-doors but to undress on return to home and wash the clothes and shoes outside.
It often takes decades for positive change but sometimes only days, months or years for negative change. Look at the current trend of everyone in the media distancing themselves with anyone that has even the slightest hint of an unproven misdemeanor.
If naturism could become as easily accepted into society as mass tattooing or piercing has become in a relative short time then we would have no issues. I know tattooing and piercing has been around for thousands of years but in recent years the growth has been incredible.

A dinner with a long time friend and his new companion has me relating this story.
I've known this fellow for over 25 years, the bulk of that time being one of his clients (financial services). He's now retired and recently found a nice lady who he's moved in with (he was divorced a long time ago). My wife and I were out with the two of them prior to a local Christmas concert. "Mike" has known of my naturist leanings for years as I told him about my trips to Eden Bay back in the early 2000's. His new friend will be attending a relative's wedding next year and it's a destination wedding, the destination being Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. "Joanne" was concerned about going and since I'd had experience on the island I told her not to worry. I did say that I'd been on the north coast (Puerto Plata area) and not the southeast where Punta Cana is located.
I just described my visits in general terms, making no mention that the resort had been naturist. It got to a point however where both my wife and Mike were smiling and snickering so I mentioned that the resort I'd been visiting had a rather informal dress code - more like no code. Joanne was somewhat shocked (this was only our third meeting) but at the same time I could tell that she was somewhat intrigued by it all. After all, I looked so NORMAL!
What prompted me to recount this was her final words on the subject. She found it all "fascinating". I don't believe I've stumbled onto a budding naturist but the whole episode made me think of this forum topic.

It is always hard to know how far to press the topic - is it politeness conversation or genuine interest. You never know they may want to be encouraged to investigate the lifestyle properly. I think I may have found myself tempted to say "come and check this out" and log into ANW but slow but steady may win the race....

Good point. After an initial conversation where some mild interest was shown, perhaps an email with the link, saying, "per our conversation, here is a family-friendly website with some very nice people. If you want to research the topic in private, take a look at this link. If not, just delete and we're good."
People can seldom resist the opportunity to read something, when they know no one else is around and there is no threat of embarrassment or call for immediate commitment. Natural curiosity demands it. :)

Both Anna and Sam bring up good points. I'll let you know if I take Sam's suggestion.
