It’s taken years, but we are getting much closer to having a place to share with people – something we’ve wanted to do. About four years ago, we bought five acres of land in Dewey, Arizona, very near a national forest with few nearby neighbors. We erected fences and planted shrubs to block the few neighbors’ views. We planted a nice lawn. We have a fish pond and a hot tub. Our house has a giant covered deck, and our garage is totally finished so we can host events. I built nearly a mile of rock-lined and raked trails and planted a number of gardens. Along the trails are sitting areas and nature signs. We have worked hard to make our place attractive for others.
Now, how to share all we’ve done, with textiles and also naturists. And I’m thinking that is the solution – share with both - just like the Naked Gardeners at Abby House in England – have days for both.
So, we’ll advertise to textile visitors through local community sources, and to naturist visitors through naturist sources, and let those who actually visit know about both. We’re thinking of advertising our opening using the following message:
“Come enjoy an early morning time of quiet and peace at our mountain retreat. Sit in the cool shade under our covered deck. Enjoy the view of the mountains and our quiet neighborhood. Bring a refreshing drink. Listen to our wind chimes. Quietly socialize with others, but silence is fine as well. Enjoy our fishpond and water lilies. Watch the birds and other animals that come to drink and eat (we’ve seen Scrub Jays, Hummingbirds, Gold and House Finches, Quail, Road Runners, Grey Squirrels, Javelina, and Grey Foxes). Read a good book. Sun on our lounge chairs. Close your eyes and feel the spirit. All your choice. You’re also welcome to quietly walk our Meditation and Nature Trail to experience nature more fully. A weekend in nature during the summer is peaceful and very enjoyable.”
What do you think? Is this a reasonable way to share our naturism with others?
