I think it depends. People like Nick & Lins don't show genitals in their great website https://www.nakedwanderings.com/ and I think it works great. They don't specifically cover up, they just choose photos in which their pose would help them not get banned on Instagram. Lots of buttocks, yet no female nipples. I understand that this approach can give better exposure to the information part and less attention from the weirdos without disrespecting the essence of naturism.

Anna, you got the right points there. I find myself disregarding the pretty girls photos in magazines and I reckon that it's because I can't identify with them. On the other hand, I much prefer seeing the folks that look like me and older, a bit chubby, people that would be rejected immediately by a sexy magazine. It gives me the idea that these are regular persons, not someone who by their looks "ought to" pose naked. And the reason is that people like the ones we see in ANW make me look normal, not like an idiot or an exhibitionist. I suppose in a way we also become a bit "exhibitionist" (not in a sexual way) by the need to show ourselves to like minded persons. I suppose I wouldn't feel the need to post photos of mine if I had the chance to be surrounded by people that wouldn't think anything about my nudity, like in an ideal clothes-optional world.

It is true we wouldn't have places like ANW if nudity was just generally common place and acceptable, we also wouldn't have AANR, BN, INF etc but the world would be a better place for naturism not existing because nudity was just a regualr part of life. Though of course we would share naked images on the internet - but not because they show nudity but because being naked is just part of life and we wouldn't consider not showing naked images. It would be as matter of fact as taking a photo of a bar meal or a cocktail and sharing it on facebook.
