On 13th of July we celebrate Naturist Swimming Day on ANW to coincide with World Skinny Dipping Day.
When and where was your first naturist or naked swim?
Did it sell you on the idea of naturism? Was it planned or did it just happen? Was it through organised swimming at school or the YMCA?
Was it something you did alone, like the privacy of you own swimming pool? Or was it part of social nudity like a visit to a naturist beach?

Mine was at Brighton Naturist Beach in 1981. It formed part of our first naturist experience as we visited Brighton and decided to go to look at the beach and decided to "give it a go". I went in the sea and coming out without a soggy costume was bliss
Mine was Plage du Lourtuais near Erquy in Brittany. We parked our tent and blanket on the textile side and then I went over to the naturist side. It was amazing. Swimming naked was just brilliant. Definitely for the bug.
It was definitely in Yugoslavia, as a kid, with my parents, and this was the day naturist got under my skin and never really left (although it made a disappearance out of sexual confusion as a teenager). Memories and pics my parents took at that time are still very present in my mind. I remember it felt a little weird and naughty at first, then comfort stepped in and I felt alive more than ever. I also remember that we were renting a small flat with a terrace overlooking the sea and after coming back from this naturist escapade and having taken a shower, I stayed naked, my mother smiling, calling me her little nudist...
I couldn't bring myself to swim on our first naturist beach visit - I felt a little too nervous I think - but did on our second. We very much planned a naturist trip in fact we went away specifically to visit this beach and enjoy some naturist time. It was Saunton Sands in July 2008. It was the best beach experience I had ever had and I was hooked. Swimming naked it just wonderful.
Naturist Swimming in a pool followed the next month.
When we went on our honeymoon in August 2008 we also had the wonderful luxury of using the swimming pool naked. Which offers a completely different way of swimming as it is much easier to enjoy proper swimming as well as jumping in etc. We had hoped that we would be able to use the pool naked when we booked our honeymoon, it looked private which was important as it was not a naturist venue. We had a naturist beach as back up but thankfully the pool was private. The holiday rep arrived while we were swimming on our second day but she didn't mind, and the cleaners and gardeners didn't seem to care either, but we wouldn't have wanted guests at other villas to complain so we were pleased that the pool was not overlooked.
